My Favourite Subject At School

My favourite subject at school is maths , because it is fun and challenging. I like to do lots of maths and learn about it everyday. I am good at most of my basic facts I just need to work on remembering my 8 and 12 times tables. Something I need to work on is my measurement skills and using a protractor to find angles. I hope I can learn how to convert fractions, decimals and percentages and how to use a protractor i also hope to remember my times tables.

My 12th Birthday.

On Saturday the eleventh of august was my birthday party .My mum helped me set up our house with streamers, balloons, snacks and pretty watermelon lights .Soon my friends Manaaki ,Ebony and Madison would be arriving .So I dressed up in my red dress and got ready for the party .

Finally Manaaki arrives my first guest. She's wearing her favourite red jersey .I explain to her what we would be doing today .We are Making slime,Tie Dye T-shirts and some fun baking .My friend Madison came next looking very shy .We waited a little while for Ebony until we started . It turned out she was running a bit late .

After that we started the first activity while we waited for Ebony which was oreos dipped in chocolate then deep fried in cake batter .Half way through the baking I burnt the chocolate in the microwave . My mum quickly went to the supermarket to get some more .When she got back she decided to finish the oreo activity .Instead we started making oven smores but before we could start Ebony arrived. All of us made the smores and put them in the oven .

We tried the food we cooked had some snacks and had a drink .We all decided that we should take photos , Videos and slow mos to post on Instagram .My mum suggested that we start out Tie Dye Shirts .At the shop I chose the colors purple, green and yellow .For the rest of the day we made slime ate pizza drunk soda opened presents and took pictures .

All of friends parents picked them up at around 9:30.I loved my party I was amazing. This year for my 13th Birthday party i'm going to Diner 66 and we will dress up Retro I can't wait.

My Dream Land

Wish Land
My land is filled with beautiful, lush gardens and enormous houses with many magical fountains. It’s simply amazing. In my land you can also wish for things you didn’t have before, and want now. Everybody is happy and nice it’s like your up in the clouds. We have huge big feasts with all you can eat and your favourite desserts. Fresh food is added every hour. We even have our own crest.

But there are some rules to wishing. Everybody has a small well. You are provided with coins that are delivered everyday. To be able to wish you must say it out loud and throw your coin into the well. The machine inside the well records the wish and chooses whether it should be granted or not.

Most things people wish for are food, money and beautiful clothes along with many other things. I would like to wish for a phone, laptop, food and clothes. We do most of our school work at home online. It’s kind of like home school. When I’m not doing school work I'm hanging out with my friends. But all this fun isn’t for free. It’s fifty dollars for a visit or one hundred a year.

I love my wish land being in charge is fun but also challenging. Everyone is accepting and kind. Sometimes I like to visit my friends in their own lands. They are just as beautiful. Wish land is a great place to visit or even live. It’s a fantastic place I love it.

Maori Creation Story

Last week we learnt about the Maori creation story. We then made our own comic strip retelling the story. This is our Maori creation story.

In the beginning there was Ranginui the sky father and Papatuanuku the earth mother. Papatuanuku and Ranginui had six children Tumatauenga , Tane-Mahuta ,Rongo-ma-tane , Haumia tike-tike ,Tangaroa and Tawhirimatea. They did not like living cramped and in darkness in between their parents. They decided to try push them apart. Tangaroa and Tumatauenga tried first but they could not push them apart. Tane-Mahuta tired next he laid on his back and pushed with his feet.He pushed as hard as he could.Ranginui and Papatunuku slowly separated light was now streaming through. Tane-Mahuta cloaked his mother with trees ,flowers and ferns and dressed his father in rainbows, clouds, stars, the sun and the moon.Tane-Mahuta Became the god of the forests. Tumatauenga became god of man and war. Tangaroa became the god of the oceans,Tawhirimatea became the god of the winds and storms,Haumia tikie-tike became the god of uncultivated foods and Rongo-ma-tane became the god of peace and agriculture. Now when it rains it is said that it is Ranginui crying for his lost love and when the ground shakes it is Papatunuku crying for Ranginui.

Writing the story and drawing out was somewhat difficult but it was fun I hope you like the story and found out something new and I definitely did I don't personally believe in this story but not everyone does.
